Background and Experience
McKinley manages our Murray location. She understands that a family law case is rarely just a legal problem. For many clients, it arrives during one of the most uncertain and emotionally difficult periods of their lives. Her approach combines compassionate, attentive client care with the confidence to provide clear direction when difficult decisions need to be made.
A Salt Lake City native, McKinley has practiced family law since 2019. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Utah and her law degree from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. Her experience in both private practice and the nonprofit legal sector has given her a broad perspective on the challenges families face during divorce, custody disputes, and protective order proceedings. She’s seen an array of legal matters ranging from complex protective orders, evidentiary hearings, complex custody disputes, and intense divorce matters.
McKinley takes time to listen. She helps clients understand what is happening, what their options are, and what comes next. When emotions or conflict make decisions difficult, she works to bring clarity and structure to the process so clients do not feel as though they have to navigate it alone.
Whenever possible, McKinley seeks practical solutions through professionalism, communication, and cooperation. But compassion does not mean avoiding conflict when a client’s interests require strong advocacy. When necessary, she is a fearless courtroom advocate who is prepared to protect her clients and their families.
Outside the office, McKinley enjoys running, hiking, biking, and traveling with her husband, two children, and their dog.
